Captain Brandon Rowland grew up surrounded by rods, reels, and stories of the one that got away. Fishing wasn’t just a hobby in his family—it was a way of life. From an early age, he traveled across the country and abroad, chasing new waters and fish species. His experience spans from the shallows of Laguna Madre in Texas to the deep offshore waters of Southern Mexico, giving him a broad and well-rounded foundation in both saltwater and freshwater angling.
Captain Brandon’s passion was influenced by his father, a highly accomplished angler with multiple world records and tournament victories. Through years of fishing alongside him, Brandon gained hands-on knowledge, refined techniques, and a deep respect for the sport. His skills have been featured in books, magazine features, and television segments, all highlighting his ability to locate fish and guide others to success.
Outside of the water, Brandon has dedicated time to passing along what he’s learned. While living in the mountains of New Mexico, he volunteered at his alma mater and served as a fly fishing instructor at a summer camp program. There, he mentored young anglers—including kids with disabilities—teaching both practical fishing skills and fostering an appreciation for aquatic ecosystems. His approach combines technical instruction with an emphasis on patience, connection to nature, and lifelong learning.
Captain Brandon operates his guided trips out of a 2015 Ankona skiff, designed for precision and access to shallow waters. At 17 feet long, this skiff accommodates up to three guests and is powered by a 60HP Evinrude engine. It cruises efficiently at up to 30 knots, making it ideal for reaching prime fishing zones quickly. Whether sight-casting on the flats or exploring narrow backwaters, the boat offers a smooth and focused fishing experience tailored to small-group outings.
